Yes, it is acceptable to utilize the scholarship award for any certificate or rating from a private pilot certificate through any of the instructor certifications, or for specialized flight training courses.
I am a private pilot/commercial pilot/CFI/CFII/MEI. Can this scholarship be used for specialized flight training courses such as aerobatic training, mountain flying, etc.?
Yes, it is acceptable to utilize the scholarship award for any certificate or rating from a private pilot certificate through any of the instructor certifications, or for specialized flight training courses.

No. At the moment, our scholarship is designed for pilots who are still completing some form of primary flight training.
Do I need to be a member of the Professional Pilots of Tomorrow to apply for this scholarship?
No, you do not need to be a member of the Professional Pilots of Tomorrow in order to apply for this scholarship.
What criteria is looked at when applying for this scholarship?
Our team takes a holistic approach and manually scores each application. We consider the applicant’s flight experience (flight hours, certificates, ratings), community service and volunteer activity, continued professional and personal growth, and academic achievements when scoring applications.
I applied for other Professional Pilots of Tomorrow scholarships. Can I apply for this one too?
Yes, as long as you are not a previous recipient of a Professional Pilots of Tomorrow scholarship award, you can apply once during each scholarship application window.
Does it matter what type of flight school I am conducting my flight training at (Part 61 or Part 141)?
No. Either flight school type is acceptable.
